Join us this MLK weekend, to learn Bystander Intervention tactics, discuss different scenarios we might come across in the world, and connect with community groups and resources to further support these efforts.

Writers Resist

WRITERS RESIST: Louder Together for Free Expression is a literary protest on the steps of the New York Public Library’s Schwarzman Building at 42nd St. that will bring together hundreds of writers and artists and thousands of New Yorkers on the birthday of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr. American poet laureates Robert Pinsky, Author and Rita Dove will each offer hope and inspiration with “inaugural” poems.

Lift Every Voice And Sing: Songs Of Light And Hope

A community celebration of the ideals of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with music by local composers. Community members interested in joining the mass choir are invitied to a brief rehearsal at 11am. This concert is free and open to the public. Generous funding is provided by the St. Paul Cultural STAR and MN Music Coalition.

Women’s March On Washington

On January 21, 2017 we will unite in Washington, DC for the Women’s March on Washington. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

When we are faced with hate, fear, violence, and struggle, this concert explores how love can answer our most challenging moments. The last year has brought many difficult issues to the front of our collective conscious, both in our local and national communities. Music written by all American composers and singer/songwriters that brings love’s voice into the conversation during moments like these. The event aims to strengthen the connective spirit among us all and provide a loving answer outside of ourselves to inspire a stronger one from within.
